With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Kenneth Smith (Wilmington, North Carolina), who passed away on April 1, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Milton; and his siblings, Jeff, Dave, Bobby Smith, Louanne Yendrey and Rosie Epps.
He is survived by: his friend Union; his girlfriend Christina Stephens; his children, Jennifer Egbert, Shannon Schell, Kerrin Duff, Jessica Stafford, Dave Christensen and Richie Christensen; his brother John Smith; and his grandchildren, David Coleman, James Egbert, Nathan Stafford, Molly Christensen, Flynn Christensen, Killian Duff, River Stafford, Samuel Stafford and Henry Schell. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Smitty's family has asked that donations be made in his honor to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Services (https://lifecare.org) and/or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
