He is survived by: his wife Arlene Jarzombek; his children, Richard Porter, Jr. (Melissa) of Wilmington and Kimberly Porter (Brad Kiger) of Weaverville; his grandchildren, Kara, Jacob and Miller Porter; his sister Gail O'Brien (John) of Easton, Maryland.; his children, Gregory Jarzombek, Geri Jarzombek and Jeannine Merkelz; his son-in-law Curt; and his nephews, Peter Merkelz and Kevin Merkelz.
In lieu of flowers, Dick had requested that donations be made to a favorite charity.
