He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hewett and Gladys Hewett (Benson); and his wives, Pam Hewett (Pierce) and Peggy Adams (Moore). He is survived by: his children, Scott Hewett (Nicole), Mark Hewett (Kirsti), Angie Bostrom, Eric Bostrom (Ms) and Kay Corriher of Landis, NC; his grandchildren, Frank, Robin Hewett, Chelsea Hewett, Davis Hewett, Samantha Stoudemire, Alexandra Hewett, Holland Bostrom and Kate Bostrom; and his great grandchildren, Ava, John, Wolfgang and Decklan.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Wrightsville Beach United Methodist Church (4 Live Oak Drive, Wilmington, NC 28025).
