He is survived by: his wife Barbara of Blair, SC; his children, Robert Canty of Wilmington, NC, Curtis (Veranda) of Columbia, SC, John Canty (Crystal) of Leland, Darrell of Wilmington, NC, James of Florence, SC, Bena of Wilmington, NC, Lashunda (Kerry) of Winnsboro, SC and Keonna of Winnsboro, SC; his sisters, Teresa of Wilmington, NC, Linda Sanders, Brenda Pearson and Merita "Niecy" Evans; and his grandson Kevon Sampson. He is also survived by 4 brothers-in-law, 4 sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
