He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Carter Surles; his children, Terri Surles Green (Eric), Roland Dwayne Surles and David Anthony Surles (Trish); his siblings, Randall Dwight Surles (Jewell), Sarah Surles Andrews, Ruby Surles Waters (Bud) and Marilyn Surles Taylor (Joe); his grandchildren, Andrew Green, Caroline Green and Savannah Surles Lewis (Arnel); his sisters, Georgia Surles Meckley (Caleb), Sarah Surles, Emily Surles, Chloie Elliott, Skye Henry (Braxton), Taylor Surles and Haylee Surles; and his great grandchildren, Hayden Arnel Lewis, Hudson Reed Lewis and Olivia Lopez.
