He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sharon Pepevnik Ellis; his daughter Tayler Matrice Ellis of Raleigh, NC; his granddaughters, Ava Norton and Willow River Smith; his siblings, Van Ellis (Sally) of Sherrills Ford, NC, Chris Ellis of Fort Mill, SC and Gail Wherry (Mark) of Fuquay-Varina, NC; his stepson Dustin Reid Smith of Delco, NC; his sister-in-law Anna Ellis of Pineville, NC; his parents, Richard Gene Ellis and Mary Marcia Lindsay Ellis; and his brother Kim Ellis. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Wilmington Funeral and Cremation (1535 S 41st St, Wilmington, NC 28403).
