She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Burke and Thelma Burke; and her siblings, John Burke, Judy Williams, Sara Talley and Pamela Baumgardner.
She is survived by: her husband Don Wood; her daughter Megan Stewart (Danny) of Wilmington; her brother Dr. Stanley Burke (Janice) of Blacksburg, VA; and her brother-in-law Dr. Hal Talley of Shelby, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
