He is survived by: his daughter Allison Ward Tam; his son-in-law Jason Tam; his grandson William "Ward" Tam; his girlfriend Sarah Lynne Jernigan; and his sister-in-law Sarah Waters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice, the Wilmington Elks Club, or the Sudan Shriners Burn Fund.
