He was predeceased by: his son Matthew Wayne Gardner; his parents, Richard Allen Gardner and Eula Gray Moore; and his siblings, Janie Kaye Gardner and James Burkett Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey Gardner; his children, Joseph "Joey" Jarvis Jenkins, III (Hope), Brian Matthew Gardner and Briann Marie Gardner (Austin Wooten); and his sister Emily Gardner Davis (Steve). He is also survived by six furry friends, his weenie dogs.
