He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Scott McLaughlin and Lucy Wilson McLaughlin; and his siblings, Dorothy Gunn, Ruby Garrett, Geneva McLaughlin, Daniel "Tom" McLaughlin, Charles "Hoot" McLaughlin and Rev. Paul McLaughlin.
He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Stafford McLaughlin; his daughters, LaShandra McLaughlin of Raleigh, NC and S. Nicole McLaughlin of Atlanta, GA; his grandson Roderick B. Marshall, III of Raleigh, NC; and his sister Evelyn Thomas of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church (6620 Old Richmond Rd, Danville, VA 24540). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
