She was predeceased by: her husband James Avery; her parents, John Henry and Mildred Murray; and her sisters, Brenda Muelhbauer and Vickie Murray.
She is survived by: her children, James E. Avery, Jr. (Lesley) and Melissa Rader (John); and her grandchildren, Judah, Noah Avery, Kerstyn and Paetyn Rader.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Joyner's Funeral Home (4100 Raleigh Rd Pkwy W, Wilson, NC 27896). A burial was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 2:45 PM at the Calendar Evergreen Memorial Park (2800 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27896).
