He is survived by: his wife Terry Silverthorn; his sister Debbie Godwin; his stepchildren, Wayne Strickland (Jaime Strickland), Micheal Strickland (Delores Strickland) and Tracy Strickland; his grandchildren, Lindsey Simmons, Adam Strickland, Cassie Floars, Haley Floars, Angel Strickland, Ryan Strickland, Michael Strickland Jr. and Justin Strickland; his great grandchildren, Paisley Simmons, Conner Capps and Asher Johnson; and his adoptive son Lester Wayne Mayan of Georgia.
