Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Diana Barnes James of Wilson, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 78, on April 15, 2024. She was predeceased by : her parents, Irene "Pokie" Barnes Doak and Edwin Tartt Barnes; and her sister Marie Barnes Thomas. She is survived by : her children, David James Jr. and Pace (John); her grandchildren, James and Mary Louise; her niece Page Smith (Eliot); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Thomas and Marie Page; her nephews, Allen Thomas Jr. (family: Alicia, Cesar Mendoza) and Tartt Thomas; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Laurel, Anna Blair and Rachel. She is also survived by many loving family members and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sound (1301 Ward Blvd A, Wilson, NC 27893). A reception was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the St. Timothy's Episcopal Church (202 Goldsboro St S, Wilson, NC 27893).
