He was predeceased by: his son David Wayne Evans; and his parents, Robert Dee Evans and Zola Mae Braswell Evans. He is survived by: his wife Jean Ferrell Evans; his son Robert G. Evans, Jr. (Odessa) of Bloomington, IN; his grandchildren, Hannah Evans and Jack Evans; and his siblings, Judy Turner (Ken) of Wilson and Don Evans (Jennie) of Wilson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Connect Church (4865 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27896). Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Evergreen Memorial Park (2800 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27896).
