He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Norvell and Elizabeth Norvell; his son Hugh Norvell; his brothers, Stevie Norvell and John Freddie Perkinson; and his stepmother Ann Perkinson Norvell.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Mercer Norvell; his children, Elizabeth Howell of Pikeville, Sharon Carter of Summerton, Hal Norvell of Black Creek and Wesley Evans of Wilmington; and his sister Nancy Ivey (Richard) of Shelby. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
