She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Lamm and Numa Walston Lamm; her former husband Robert E. Denton; her husband Billy Shadding; her son Paul E. Denton; and her sister Gloria Joyner.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Shingleton (Tim) of Stantonsburg and Audie Denton of Stantonsburg; her sister Katie King of Rocky Mount; her daughter-in-law Deborah Denton; her grandchildren, Robbie Denton (Kelly), Jeremy Gay (Amanda), Lee Denton (Brittany), Ashley Champion (Aaron) and Allison Shingleton; and her great grandchildren, Hali Denton, Kase Denton, Joy Gay, Kaylee Denton, Taylor Denton, Bethany Denton, Bryleigh Champion, Heidi Champion, Parker Champion and Sadie Champion. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
