She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Best; and her parents, Willie Turnage and Mamie Turnage. She is survived by: her sisters, Sally Wilson and Ruth Turnage; her nieces and nephews, John, Lisa Wilson, Jean Brantley, Larry Pittman and Susie Pittman; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Chad Ellis, Rachel Wilson, Eric Wilson and Kayline Francois.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Joyner's Funeral Home (4100 Raleigh Rd Pkwy W, Wilson, NC 27896). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Evergreen Memorial Park (2800 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27896).
