She was predeceased by: her husband James Glenn Wheeler; and her parents, Harmon Pitts "Johnny" Johnston and Ella Jo Vaughan Johnston. She is survived by: her son Jay Wheeler (Jill) of Wilson; her stepsons, Perry Thomas "Tommy" Wheeler of Wilson, Phillip Allen "Phil" Wheeler (Debbie) of Rocky Mount and Mark Elmer Wheeler of Sneads Ferry; her grandsons, Jackson and Elliott Wheeler; her siblings, Sheila Johnson (Stan) of Bailey, Ouida Holden of Shallotte and Harmon "Vance" Johnston of Wilmington; and her nieces and nephews, Shannon Phelps, Jennifer Johnston, Brandon Tomlinson (Jaymi) and Anthony Johnston.
