We bid farewell to Mary Ella Barnes of Wilson, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 14, 2025 at the age of 99. Mary Ella touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Gray and Lillie Mae Webb Whitley; her brothers, Calvin, William "Doodle", Ed, Charles "Shine", Wallace "Shorty" and Doug Whitley; and her nephews, Harold, Joe and Keith Whitley.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Sarah Pridgen Whitley; her nieces and nephews, Dianne Barnes, Lee Black, Carol Cox, Mona Fulghum, Beth Glover, Sheri Jernigan, Marla Whitley, Billy, Chuck, Doug and Gray Whitley; and her caregivers, Angela, Barbara, Doris and Emma.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Maplewood Cemetery (400 College St NE, Wilson, NC 27893). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
