She is survived by: her son Thil Deaton Hurley (Teresa) of New Bern; her brother Jerry Lanier Godwin (Helen) of Bel Air; and her sisters-in-law, Jean High Godwin of Leesburg, Carol Godwin of Mt Pleasant, SC and Margaret Rich Godwin of Greensboro, NC. She is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
