It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sarah Whitley of Wilson, North Carolina, who passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Charles W. "Shine" Whitley; her great grandchild Grant Harris; and her parents, Marion L. Pridgen and Emma Wheeler Pridgen. She is survived by: her children, Marla Whitley, Mona Fulghum of Wilson and Charles W. "Chuck" Whitley, Jr. (Judie) of Wilson; her grandchildren, Mark Whitley, Robin Whitley, Adam Harris, Heather Cumbo and Rob Fulghum; and her brother Marion L. Pridgen Jr. of Wilson. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (311 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27893). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Maplewood Cemetery (400 College St NE, Wilson, NC 27893).
