He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn Deans Davis; his parents, Dred Davis and Ruth Davis; and his siblings, Linda Davis and Guy Davis.
He is survived by: his daughter Kristi Davis (Tommy Faulkner); his grandchildren, Jordan Umphlett (Taylor) of Wilson and Thomas Ellis of Pocono Lake, Pennsylvania; his great grandchildren, Sydney Umphlett and Edith Umphlett; his sisters, Sandra Hodge (Allen) of Garner and Joyce Bissette of Columbia; and his sister-in-law Joyce Lynn Davis of Rocky Mount.
