William Coalter Paxton Jr. Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 7, 2025, at the age of 89, William Coalter Paxton Jr. of Wilson, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Coalter and Ethel Battle Paxton; his daughter Harriette Dewey Paxton; and his brother Augustus Winniett Peters. He is survived by: his wife Webber Bell Paxton; his children, William Coalter Paxton III (Caroline) and Elizabeth Paxton Black; his grandchildren, William Coalter Paxton IV (Payton), John Bratton Parker, Jr., Grace Rumsey Paxton, Josephine Paxton Parker, Thomas Webber Paxton and James Hillary Black III; his great grandchildren, William Coalter Paxton V and Jack Perry Paxton; his sister Sallie Paxton Smyth; and his nephews, Paxton Peters, Walston Peters, Tom Peters, Hall Smyth, Adam Smyth and Ben Smyth.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 1007 Woodland Dr NW, Wilson, NC 27893. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (414 Sunset Rd NW, Wilson, NC 27893).
