William Shingleton Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Shingleton in Wilson, North Carolina, born in Middletown, Connecticut, who passed away on April 26, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Petty; his mother Esther; his sons, William (Sharon) and Nicholas (Kari); and his stepson Steve (Amy). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; two sisters, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Memorial services are limited due to COVID.

Barbara A. Hotelling wrote a sympathy message

“I am just now learning of Bill's passing. He was in graduate school at Duke with my late husband, Harold Hotelling and his wife and I had play dates with our firstborn sons, Billy and Harold. Bill was always loyal to the Marines and to those he cared about. He contributed to his community with the Lions and collecting winter coats for school children. I'm sure I'm missing more. So sorry to lose him so soon. Barbara Hotelling”
