He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Gibson and Pauline Gibson; his wife Bettye Gibson; and his daughter Judith Gibson (Judy). He is survived by: his siblings, Virginia Cariker of McCrory, Arkansas and Maynard Gibson of Four Oaks; his sons, Lawrence N. "Larry" Gibson, Jr. (Mary) and David M. Gibson (Cindy); and his grandchildren, Josh Gibson (April), Jessica Murray (Christopher), Matthew Gibson (Yukina), Jeffrey Gower (Penny), Christopher Gower, Angela Carroll, Brandy Carroll, Candice Wheeler and Mandy Whitley (Duane). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
