He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Askew and Pearl Lena Askew; and his siblings, Josephine Askew, Signal Askew and Harlin Askew.
He is survived by: his sons, Brenton Dale Askew (Lesley) and Dr. Kim Askew (Leigh); his grandchildren, Carson Askew, Caitlyn Askew, Natalie Askew, Paige Askew, Connor Askew and Sawyer Askew; and his sisters, Ruth Whitaker, Velma Hughes, Merilyn Evans and Linda Askew.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Walker Funeral Home (236 US-17 BYP, Windsor, NC 27983). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Ross Baptist Church (1020 Bull Hill Rd, Windsor, NC 27983).
