The memory of Ruby White (Windsor, North Carolina), who passed away on March 5, 2026 at the age of 97, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, George P. Jernigan and Melissa W. Jernigan; her son Alton Clay; and her siblings, Starkey, Carlie Jernigan, Pauline Roberson, Nettie White, Annie Mae Hill and Edna Jernigan.
She is survived by: her daughters, Ellen Askew and Brenda Hoggard (Henderson) of Askewville; her sister Vergie Mizelle of Askewville; and her grandchildren, Janet Winstead (Steve), Greg Hoggard (Judi), Stephanie Stewart (Kevin) and Joseph Hoggard (Marianne). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Askewville Bethel Assembly of God Building Fund, a cause dear to Ruby's heart.
