With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth Smith Whitehurst of Windsor, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 12, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Edgar Rudolph and Thelma Pritchard Smith; her husband John Edward Whitehurst; her sons, Edward Rudolph Whitehurst (Susan) of Windsor and John Benjamin Whitehurst (Lora) of Youngsville; her grandchildren, Colby, Brittany, Heather and Berkeley; and her great grandchildren, Rhett, Madeline, Eason, Eliza, Wrenley and Lucy.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Edgewood Cemetery (Windsor, NC 27983).
