He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Shook Davis (Midge); and his parents, William Erastus Davis (Rass) and Lillie Revis Davis. He is survived by: his children, Maria Jones (Philip) of Winnabow, NC, Perry Davis Jr. and James Davis of Wilmington, NC; his grandchildren, Catherine Jacobs (Jonathan) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Geena Fisher (Trevor) of Raleigh, NC, Sam Davis of Wilmington, NC and Ben Davis of Wilmington, NC; his great grandchildren, Kennedy Jacobs, Hadley Jacobs and Beau Fisher; and his siblings, Haven, Clayton, Otis, Coolidge, Legrast, Toleda and Hazel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Perry and Midge were determined for their children to get college educations and for that reason and to honor his memory, the family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the NBHS MLK Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 837, Leland, NC 28451 for First-Generation College Students in a Science Field.
