He was predeceased by: his parents, Roney Columbus and Permelia Edwards Dorsett; his wife Barbara Alice Smith Dorsett; and his siblings, Junior Dorsett, Bobby Dorsett and Florence Newsome.
He is survived by: his son Marty Dorsett (Jamie Watson) of Winston Salem; his grandson Jackie Dorsett (Robin) of Winston-Salem; his great grandchild Onikka Beane of Wilson; his siblings-in-law, Jack Smith (Beth) of Winston-Salem and Gaynell McCourry of Trinity; and his nephew Donald Ray Newsome. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Grandview Funeral Home (789 Grandview Dr, Sparta, NC 28675). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
