It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cleo Gooding Tovey of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on September 23, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Duane R. Tovey; her parents, Carl Gooding and Ticie Gooding; and her sister Frances Mohr. She is survived by: her sons, David A. Tovey (Myra) and Jay R. Tovey (Rose); her grandchildren, Sheri L. Culler (Chris), Jason P. Tovey (Mandy), Jennifer E. Roper (Scott) and Jonathon R. Tovey (Stephanie); and her great grandchildren, Cleo, Jude, Grayson Culler, Benjamin, Claire, Gwendolyn, Daphne, Emerson, Finn Tovey, Alistair, Ian and Elizabeth Roper.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Cleo's honor to the Hope Presbyterian Church building fund.
