He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Goodson and Carrie Goodson; and his siblings, Carolyn Carter (Raymond), Cecilia Spach, Clay Goodson (Jean) and Carey "Deeter" Goodson.

He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Hege Goodson; his children, Craig Goodson (Ree), Cathy Doughton (Ged), Linda Goodson and Ben Goodson (Denise); his grandchildren, Madison Goodson (Jenn), Logan Goodson, Megan Roane (Mike), Meredith Everett (Charlie), Elizabeth Hodges (Charles), Morgan Cox (Kyle), Molly-Catherine Rae (Rob), Dustin Goodson, Brandon Goodson (Randi), Brittany Brooks (Hunter) and Ty Goodson; his great grandchildren, Skylar, Ava Goodson, Michael, Mary Miller Roane, Chuck Everett, Clementine, John Hodges, Peyton-Leigh, Parker, Maclendon Cox, Molly-James, Thomas Rae, Colt, Barrett, Briggs Goodson, Stetson and Laken Brooks; and his brother-in-law Madison Spach. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Ardmore Moravian Church (2013 W Academy St, Winston-Salem, NC 27103).
