He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin George and Retha George; his daughter Laura Saumier; and his brother John George. He is survived by: his wife Sara Sheppard George; his son Jonathan George (Jill); his grandchildren, Zachary, Noah, Parker and Joel; and his siblings, Paul George (Loretta), Stephen George (Julie), Mary McCartney, Martha Pinkston (Michael), Beckie Nelson (Dan), Eunice Wallace (Dennis) and Esther Black (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, fellow clergy, and dear friends.
A vigil service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Christ Church (1210 Bolton St, Winston-Salem, NC 27103). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Church, 1210 Bolton Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
