He is survived by: his children, Beth Ashburn (Cliff), Evan Drake (Joy), Martha Drake and Margaret Brown (Kieran); his nephew Bruce Drake (Diane); his grandchildren, David Ashburn (Megan), Brian Ashburn (Meghan), Zachary Ashburn (Sally), Adam Drake (Faith), Jonathan Drake (Michelle), Ben Drake (Megan), Sam Drake (Grace), Matt Drake (Bekah), Spencer Brown (Jenny) and Lauren Tuma (Jason); and his great grandchildren, Micah, Jane, Ava Ashburn, Claire, Rosalie, Scarlett Ashburn, Kayson, Jayson Ashburn, Oceane, Celeste, August, Nico Drake, Joey, Katie Drake, Eleanor, Roland, Remy, Clementine Drake, Ezra, Judah Drake, Connor, Bobbi, Evelyn Brown and Grayson Tuma.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Salem Baptist Church (429 S Broad St, Winston-Salem, NC 27103). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
