He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Thomas Cothren and Electa Julia Combs Cothren; his siblings, James "Buck" Cothren, Ralph Cothren, Pauline Sparks (Everette), Irene Wood (Walter) and Shirley Wood (Gilbert); and his sister-in-law Shirley Cothren.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Wilmoth Cothren; his daughters, Donna Pruitt of Statesville, NC and Mary Ann Jarvis of Statesville, NC; his grandchildren, Mallory Jarvis (Bradley Ayers), Steve Pruitt and Tonya P. Stepanek (Dustin); his great grandchildren, Robyn, Brody, Oliver and Willow; and his brother Ed Cothren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Stanleyville (851 Ziglar Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27105). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
