She was predeceased by : her mother Ada Mae York; and her husband Eugene H. Self, Jr.. She is survived by : her children, Eugene "Gene" H. Self III (Mary) and Sandra Self Jacks (Terry); her grandchildren, Meredith Self Phillips (David), Scott Weavil (Mandi) and Amanda Self Whaley (Nick); and her great grandchildren, Caroline, Wyatt Phillips, Talton, Nico Whaley and Dottie Weavil.

A graveside service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Forsyth Memorial Park (3771 Yadkinville Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106).
