He is survived by: his wife Violet Swain; his stepchildren, Richard "Benny" Rumley and Jan Hubbard; his children, Janie Peacock (Johnny), Fred Swain (Melissa) and Gerald Lee Swain Jr. (Darcy); his granddaughter Jenna Pollard (Steven); his great grandchild Brett; his granddaughter Kristen Cole (Brandon); and his great grandchildren, Xander, Aries, Tyler Peacock and Ashley Swain.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Salem Funeral & Cremation Service, Downtown Chapel (120 S Main St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101).
