He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Woodlief and Pearl Chandler Simpson; and his sister Brenda Kay. He is survived by: his wife Betty Angel King; his daughters, Beverly Ann (Gary), Bonretta Lynn (Tim), Robin (Curtis) and Patricia Brenee; his grandchildren, Christopher, Robert (Emily), Patricia (Randall), Kristen (Matt), Dale, Nikki (Justin), Carla (Amanda), Cliff, Caitlyn (David), Shanna (Stan) and Jessica; and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Lyla, Wade, Riley, Raini, Breanna, Anna, Annabelle, Skyler and Shyanna.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Harvey's honor to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
