He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Binford and Ruth Sandbach Binford. He is survived by: his children, Jo Ellen Schowald (James Hall) of Pinnacle, Daniel Binford (Angie) of Waxhaw and Tim Binford (Sandy) of Winston Salem; and his siblings, Tom Binford, Jim Binford and Janet Isaac. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
