With sadness, we share the passing of Jo Ann Smith Hicks (Winston Salem, North Carolina). Jo Ann, born on September 2, 1939, passed away on September 3, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Smith and Alma Smith; her husband Delma Gray Hicks; and her brother Jerry Smith. She is survived by: her sons, Jeffrey Hicks, Richard Dale Hicks and Keith Hicks (Wendy); her grandchildren, Austin Hicks and Taylor Walden (Nick); and her great grandchildren, Lydia Walden and Ivy Walden.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel (3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mausoleum Chapel (6135 Ridgecrest Point, Winston-Salem, NC 27103).
