Joan leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joan’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Joan will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her husband Barry E Crotty; and her parents, Reba Smith and Cecil Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Cristy Crotty of Durham, Ansley Spencer of Winston-Salem and Julie Giljames; her son-in-law Steve; her grandsons, Owen and Drew of Winston-Salem; and her pet Finley. She is also survived by extended family and dear friends.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Messiah Moravian Church (1401 N Peace Haven Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106).
