He is survived by: his daughter Sharon (Avery DeVaughn); his grandchildren, Avonia DeVaughn, Alexis DeVaughn and Avery DeVaughn Jr.; his great grandchildren, Keniya Plummer (Constantine), Alexandria DeVaughn, Arrie Goines, Aubrey DeVaughn, Rose Mayes and Avery DeVaughn III; and his siblings, JW Dewitt, Johnny Dewitt, Alvin Dewitt, James Allen Dewitt, Annie Ruth Grissett, Magalene Moody and Marva Dean Vereen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
