He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Griffin and Ivy Griffin; his son Michael Griffin; his grandson Bradley Griffin; and his siblings, Frank Griffin and Lillian Dean.
He is survived by: his wife Emma Pardue Griffin; and his children, Joe "Skip" Griffin Jr. (Judy), Linda Sue "Susie" Weddle (Mike), Robert "Scott" Griffin (Paula), Lisa Davis (Kenny), Brian Griffin (Sherri), Paula Moreland, Johnny M. Wiles (Vicky) and Tracy Wyatt (Jerry). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
