He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jones and Dorothy Ripplemeyer Jones; and his siblings, Dot Hall, John Jones, Rita Wilson and Harry Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Beverly Jones; his children, Lynne Sullivan of Winston-Salem, Denise Arnold (Carl) of Mooresville, NC, Gary Jones of Winston-Salem, Jay Jones (Elisa) of San Diego, CA and Jan Mendenhall (Bryan) of Clemmons, NC; his grandchildren, Erica Piner (Stockton), Chris Parsons (Rhiannon), Zach Jones, Alexis Macemore (Luke), Nick Mandragona and Luke Jones; and his great grandchildren, Lillian, Holden, Hallie, Wren and Kampbell.
