She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Woodrow Franklin and Ella Mae Smith; and her husband Paul Swaim Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Jeff (Ladale Swaim) and Gina (David Adams); her grandchildren, Megan Swaim, Dr. Kristen Adams and Kyle Adams; and her siblings, Jimmy Smith, Ronnie Smith, Peggy Shortt and Debbie Price.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice Foundation of America.
