He was predeceased by: his wife Princillis Patterson Propst; his parents, Marjorie Propst Patterson and Saul Dula; and his brothers, Charles Propst and Steve Propst.

He is survived by: his children, Lavonda Hazaimh, Louise Lash (Rodney) of Winston Salem, NC and Lewis Propst, II (Angela) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Miranda Propst Jordan (Michael) of Ft. Bragg, NC, Brianna Lash (Madison) of Winston Salem, NC, Lewis Propst, II of Charlotte, NC, Alecia McClelland of Winston-Salem, NC, Letray McClelland of Winston-Salem, NC, Lailani Princillis Mills and Alaina Lysette Jordan; his siblings, Melody Hayes (Alvin), Carolyn Norwood and Ricky Propst; Lewis. He is also survived by cousins, nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
