We are sad to announce that on July 8, 2025, at the age of 79, Loretta King Jackson (Winston Salem, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd James Barber and Sallie Mae King; her brothers, Elbert Toby King and James Leroy King; her aunt Almeana Little; and her cousin Valery King.
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Jackson and Marcus Jackson; her grandson Jevonte Dunbar-Jackson; her siblings, Almeana Lyles and Jerome Griffin; her goddaughter Tyara Scott; and her friends, Catherine Scott and Barbara Smith. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and her church family.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Russell Funeral Home (822 Carl Russell Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church (5000 Noble St, Winston-Salem, NC 27105). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
