She was predeceased by: her parents, William David and Esta Foster Gates; her husband Rev. Don Howard; her daughter Deborah Ann Andersen; her granddaughter Krista Joy; and her siblings, Roy Gates and Eva Cox.
She is survived by: her daughter Lorie Howard of Winston-Salem; her grandson Justin Andersen (Jenny) of Demorest, GA; and her great grandchildren, Harper, Liam and Everly. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vernon Forest Baptist Church.
