With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Martha Norris Davis of Winston Salem, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 29, 2025 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Golespie Norris and Hettie Strickland; and her siblings, William Isaac Norris, Elbert Royce Norris, Joseph Ruben Norris, Lorene Norris, Bonnie Norris Lanier and Mary Norris Parker.
She is survived by: her husband Riley Arrington Davis; her daughters, Marianne Davis Heath of Kernersville, NC, Nancy Davis Thomas (Greg) of Vicksburg, MS and Heather Davis Szews (Brian) of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Daniel Heath (Beth), Justin Heath (Sheena), Adam Heath (Cameron), Tori McRight (John Morgan), Gregory Thomas and Sarah Thomas; and her siblings, Ruby Norris Smith of Fairmont, NC, Ruthene Norris Barefoot of Castle Hayne, NC and Rudolph Norris of Columbia, SC.. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the Silas Creek Chapel - Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory (3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel (3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103).
