She was predeceased by: her mother Karan M Yokeley. She is survived by: her children, Karan Martinat Witt and Edwin Henry Martinat Jr. (Michelle); and her grandsons, Gus, Max Witt, George and Edwin Martinat III.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Martinat Fund at Forsyth Medical Center at 1701 S. Hawthorne Rd., W-S 27103.

“Martha is amazing and a pioneer in this community especially for mental health. She is one of the most interesting, kind people I've ever met. We crossed paths at Salvation Army whereas a board member, she advocated for homeless families, underserved youth, seniors, and anyone in need. Her life is a testimony of serving others and an inspiration to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. To family, praise God, we had her on earth for 98 yrs.
